Angolan Ambassador to China, João Salvador dos Santos Neto, visited Great Wall Motor (GWM) and invited the automaker to “invest and build a factory” in the African country.
The visit comprised the Xushui Smart Factory, R&D Centre and related forest ecosystem enterprises.
GWM Vice President Parker Shi accompanied ambassador Neto and his delegation. Mr Shi said that Angola was one of GWM’s “key markets” in Africa.
GWM said that via an “optimised network plan” it will bring an intelligent and friendly mobility experience to the Angolan market.
The Chinese automaker has already established a presence on the continent. It entered the South African market in 2007.
GWM was the official summit vehicle provider for BRICS 2023, which was held in South Africa. In August, the overseas sales of GWM exceeded 30,000 units, the automaker said.
