The Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) in Beijing approve a request by Macau Legislative Assembly (AL) President Ho Iat Seng to resign from the nation’s top legislature clearing the way for his bid for chief executive of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR).

They are, however, expected to be active in Angola´s new oil exploration licensing rounds, to be launched in the coming months.

Angola’s President João Lourenço has put reinvigorating the agriculture sector at the heart of his economic strategy. Greater production of a wider range of crops would both reduce the US$3 billion a year that the country spends on food imports and also improve living standards in the rural areas that have missed out on more rapid economic development at the coast.
