The suspension by Capital Airlines of its route between Beijing and Lisbon was a disappointment for both Portuguese and Chinese governments, but the route is set to resume in the next few months, operated by a much larger carrier - Air China.

At least five Chinese consortiums are interested in tendering for the new port of Sines terminal in southern Portugal, the largest tender to be launched over the past hundred years, with an approximate value of US$ 650 million.

The so-called Residence Permit for Investment Activity or "golden visas" has been boosting Chinese investment in Portuguese real estate, attracting 3.4 billion euros since its inception in 2012.
