Chinese Embassy in Portugal Deepens Collaboration with Polytechnic Institute

Portugal´s Setúbal Polytechnic Institute (IPS) and the Chinese Embassy in Portugal formalized an innovative alliance, boosted by the Lu Ban Portuguese Workshop.

During a bilateral meeting, a number of cooperation aspects were explored, from strengthening Chinese language teaching at the IPS to jointly promoting cultural events, as well as the creation of a scholarship sponsored by the Chinese Embassy, aimed at benefiting IPS students interested in furthering their studies related to Chinese culture and technology.

The IPS delegation, led by President Ângela Lemos and Vice-President for Internationalization and Research Luísa Carvalho, was welcomed by Ambassador Zhao Bentang (pictured above) and the Director of Education at the Chinese Embassy in Portugal, Chen Mo.

Portugal´s University of Évora and Macau University of Science and Technology start partnership

Ambassador Zhao Bentang and the Director of Education at the Chinese Embassy in Portugal, Chen Mo, expressed their determination to make the Portuguese Lu Ban Workshop a point of reference in the cultural and technological exchange between China and Portugal.

IPS’ initiative to host the Lu Ban Portuguese Workshop, opened on the IPS campus in 2018,was the starting point for an unprecedented collaboration between Portuguese entities and the Chinese Embassy in Portugal.

The Lu Ban Workshops, named after the famous Chinese engineer and inventor of the Zhou dynasty, represent a crucial platform for technological collaboration between China and partner countries.
