Portuguese infrastructure group Mota-Engil, whose shareholders include China Communication and Construction Corporation (CCCC) has signed a new contract in Brazil for EUR 135 million, in a consortium with 2 companies.
The new contract, worth approximately 791 million reais, is connected to the implementation of the Salvador and Metropolitan Region VLT (Light Rail Transport Vehicle), Águas Claras – Piatã 10.52 km stretch.
With an execution period of 50 months, the project envisages the execution of civil and urbanization works, supply and implementation of energy systems (overhead traction network and substations) and technical work for
expropriation purposes.
“With this contract, MOTA–ENGIL continues to strengthen its presence in Latin America, through the successful
contracting of new large–scale projects in the region’s core markets”, the company said in a statement.
