The new Chinese ambassador to Guinea-Bissau Yang Renhuo presented credentials to the country´s President, claiming he wants to raise bilateral cooperation to “new levels”, at the level of Governments and the private sector.
Renhuo, who handed over to President Sissoco Embaló the letters accrediting him as China’s new ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, replaces Guo Ce, who has been in office since October 2020.
“It is a great joy to be China’s new ambassador to Guinea-Bissau”, Yang said in brief statements to journalists shortly after handing over the credentials to the head of state of Guinea.

The new Chinese ambassador aims to deepen cooperation between the two Governments and also between the investors of the two countries.
“We will make joint efforts to deepen political relations and practical cooperation. We will advance our bilateral relations to a new level,” Yang said.
Stressing that “practical cooperation” between the two countries has already reached “a good level”, the ambassador said that he will strive to “add something more” for the benefit of the two peoples.

Yang Renhuo is China’s 14th ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, a country with which Beijing established diplomatic relations on 15 March 1974.
