Wine and other products of Portugal will be showcased this week in Zhuhai, in China’s Guangdong province, in an event which will include business matching.
The “Portugal, an Experience” event will be organized by the “Guangdong (China) Food Importers Association” and “Food2China”, with the support of Portugal’s Trade Agency (Aicep) and the Consulate General of Portugal in Guangzhou.
Set for May 28, in Zhuhai, the event “may be especially relevant for Portuguese companies with distributors in the market”, according to Aicep.
“The organizing entity is a specialist in business promotion Business to Business in southern China in the food sector, however the present event aims to promote Portugal and its products in general”, it adds.
The Zhuhai event comes in the wake of the participation of six Portuguese companies in SIAL China, Asia’s largest food and beverage innovation exhibition.
Portugal was represented at this month’s event by Outeirinho Group, Saven, Nieport, Sicasal, Sumol Compal and Super Bock.
Since 2000, SIAL China has served as a launchpad for food and beverage companies looking to expand abroad.
Around 2,200 exhibitors and 90,763 professionals attended SIAL China 2020.
In 2020 SIAL China welcomed exhibitors from overseas markets with the top largest contingents coming from United States, Spain, South Korea, Brazil, Turkey, Chile, Ireland, and Russia.
