Sociedade Mineira de Catoca has laid off most of its workers and suspended work at its new concessions, as part of measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. For the same reason, the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Oil postponed the selection of the proposal in the international public tender for the construction of an oil refinery in Soyo, Zaire province.

Syrah Resources has suspended work at its Vidalia factory, in the United States, following the “stay at home” order announced by the governor of Louisiana on 22 March, in order to reduce the spread of the new coronavirus, the company reported.
